Michael Young, CEO of The Service Company, Wins Virginia SPQA “2019 Ones to Watch” Award

The Service Company of Virginia, Inc. was awarded the United States Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia and the District of Columbia by the Virginia SPQA.
For more than three decades, the United States Senate Productivity and Quality Award (SPQA) program has helped Virginia and D.C. businesses improve financial results, generate customer loyalty, create jobs, improve operational effectiveness, and engage their workforce.
Each year, the SPQA Board selects the business award winners based on their commitment to expanding their opportunities to grow and enhance their customer services.
The “2019 Ones to Watch” award was presented by Virginia Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine to CEO Michael W. Young.
The overall experience and coaching provided throughout the OTW program has directly improved our organizational performance in ways we couldn’t have imagined, said Young.
Speaking of the SPQA organization, Senator Kaine has said, “We’re proud that Virginia SPQA is the longest running program of this type in the country.”
The Service Company completed the Virginia SPQA Discovery Program which requires companies to document their approach using the Malcom Baldrige Model in these disciplines:
